Kitty Comic by bornsoulless
Kitty Comic
9" x 11" ink on paper

My girlfriend and I have three cats and I made a comic just for her and I. You really have to know our cats to relate to it but here you go anyway.

Oh, and she thought it was hilarious.

It Burns!! by bornsoulless
It Burns!!
9" x 11" Pen and highlighter on lame ass work schedule paper

I used to be a cashier supervisor at work and would get unbelievably bored looking at the schedule so I started doodling on it. This was my favorite.

Half sleeve by bornsoulless
Half sleeve
17" x 24" pen on paper

This is a half sleeve tattoo design I did of my brother. I don't do tattoo designs. I've done many and there's always some kind of buttfuckery that comes along with it so I now refuse to do them. My brother talked me into it and of course things didn't go as planned. Never again. It's some traditional japanese elements with some not so traditional. I did my version of a japanese Oni mask with the three stages of the Japanese rhinoceros beetle coming out of the mouth.

Death Blooms by bornsoulless
Death Blooms
18" x 24" sennelier oil pastels on canson mi teintes paper

This is a picture that I have had in my head for a very long time. I had to take a break from all the comic work I've been doing recently and this was about as different from that as I could get. I intend for this to be the first in a series of pieces in the same vein.

Dude, I love your style!
I really dig animation too and I'm very heavily considering pursuing it as a career as well.
I'm in my senior year of high school and I'm looking at schools and such, but the only places that offer a degree in 2-D Animation are art schools and those are expensive...
Anyway, I don't know if me watching you and favoriting your stuff might make you curious to look on my page, but I haven't really uploaded anything that is serious stuff, so just a disclaimer so that if you looked you wouldn't think, "Man, this kid sucks." There is nothing on my page I would put into a serious portfolio, it's just doodle junk.

Thanks man. I'm going for 2-D as well so I know what you're saying about the schools. The only advice I can give about going into animation is to have a good cosigner for all the loans you're going to have to take out and to draw everything around you all the time.

I'll make sure of that.
Also, people have always told me that drawing from life is pretty much the best practice you can get.
My art teacher told me, "Draw what you see, not what you know you see."
That is the most important thing he has ever taught me, because it is stupidly true and makes anything I draw from life look much more correct in proportion.
I don't know if anyone has told you anything like that, but it is super useful.
Good luck in your endeavors.
I eagerly await your next deviation.
